ke.cau.ac.kr/intenv2017/ —————————— – – – – – – – –
Intelligent Environments (IEs) refer to physical spaces into which IT and other pervasive computing technology are woven and used to achieve specific goals for the user, the environment or both. IEs have the ultimate objective of enriching user experience, better manage, and increase user awareness of, that environment. The 13th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE’17) will be held at Seoul, the capital and largest metropolis of the Republic of Korea.
Conference Program: The conference provides a multidisciplinary collaborative forum for researchers and practitioners from Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Building Architecture, Art & Design, Sociology, Government and Education to present theoretical and practical results related to the development and applications of Intelligent Environments. The event will include regular full/short papers as well as a Doctoral Colloquium, a Posters Session and Demos & Videos Session.
Workshops Program: as in previous editions, a number of workshops during the first two days (21-22 August) will complement the main conference program. Papers accepted in any of the workshops sponsored by this conference will be included in one Proceedings volume that will collect the contributions in all workshops, see more details in the publications section.
Publications: All papers accepted in the main conference will be published in internationally indexed proceedings (negotiations are currently underway with the IEEE, who published the proceedings of previous editions of the conference). All papers accepted in the Workshops program will be published as a volume of the Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments Series (ISI indexed) by IOS Press, which will also be Open Access, and be made electronically available through the ACM Digital Library.
Journal Special Issues: a number of journal special issues will be published subsequently, encompassing core areas of the event. We have guarantees of special issues from the editorial boards of the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments (JAISE). More special issues will be announced.
Industrial Forum: this will be a networking event providing an opportunity for the business sector to showcase their innovations.
Tutorials Programme: for this edition we will include a number of tutorials by well-known colleagues on important topics.
Special Sessions: There will be a selection of “special sessions” on particular topical themes within the main conference. These will include sessions on “Ambient Intelligence for Elderly or Cognitively Impaired People”, on “Robotics and Intelligent Environments” and on “Advanced Human Augmentation”. More details will be released through the webpage of the event.
Awards: a number of awards will recognize the best Full Paper, Short Paper, Doctoral Colloquium paper, Demo, and Video.
Important Dates: Workshop/Tutorial/Special Sessions proposal: 15th December 2016 Conference paper submission: 15st Feb 2017 (Regular Papers) 1st Mar 2017 (Other tracks: Short Papers, etc.) Workshops paper submission: 24th April 2017 Early Bird registration: 22th June 2017

Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is a paradigm emerging from Artificial Intelligence (AI), where computers are used as proactive tools assisting people with their day-to-day activities, making everyoneís life more comfortable.
Affect and social behaviour plays an important role in the development of Ambient Intelligent Environments. Consideration of aspects like emotions, mood, personality traits, and attitudes in human-computer, human-robot, and human-environment interaction, especially insofar as they provide better or more ìnaturalî support for humans. These environments should be aware of the needs of people, customizing requirements and forecasting behaviours.
AmI environments may be highly diverse, such as homes, offices, meeting rooms, schools, hospitals, control centers, transport facilities, tourist attractions, stores, sport installations, music devices, etc.
In the Thematic track on AmIA Environments we will create a multi-disciplinary discussion forum that will bring together researchers from the different fields addressed discussing issues in Artificial Intelligence topics included in the Ambient Intelligence and affective environments. Researchers are welcome to present both theoretical and practical works as well as the lessons learned with their application in the varied range of domains. Emphasis will be placed on the presentation of concrete systems, discussion of implementation and development challenges and sharing of conclusions achieved and relevant results.

[rede.APPIA] EAIA’2016
